Movie Review: Sherlock Holmes- A Game of Shadows

Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) is back again as and all seems like it is going well. John Watson (Jude Law) is about to get married to Mary Morstan and he has finished his last case with Holmes. A turn of events leaves Irene Adler dead, (the professional thief from the first movie) and a bomb plot discovered.

When Watson visits 221B Baker Street one last time, Holmes discloses how a string of completely unrelated terrorist attacks, murders, and business acquisitions around the world are all connected to one man; Professor Moriarty, a mathematical genius, celebrated author and lecturer.

After the wedding of Watson and Mary Morstan, Holmes meets Moriarty for the first time, and Moriarty tells Holmes that he murdered Irene Adler and will kill Watson and Mary if Holmes’ interference in his plans continue. Holmes must keep Watson and Mary safe, and bring Moriarty down.

The music score was even better then the first with fast paced music to fit chase scenes and dramatic music to suit explosions.

I think that Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law were chosen perfectly, and their chemistry on screen is perfect! They couldn’t have chosen better actors.

I have two favourite scenes, but one of them is at the end and it would give away the ending if I shared it. But you will know what scene I’m talking about when you watch it. My other favourite scene is set after Watson’s bucks party and both Watson and Holmes are incredibly hungover, and Watson must attend the wedding ceremony. The scene closely resembles me when my dad used to have to wake me up for the first day of school.

Watch it here: Sherlock Holmes: Wedding scene

I loved this more then the first, and I really hope that they actually do a third. They are thinking about it, but nothing has actually happened.

I rate this movie 5 out of 5 stars because it is AMAZING!!

5star
